Hip Rafter Corner Detail
Our Figure 2 below will show the hip corner detail and placement of the first common rafter and how to lay out for the jack rafters to the right. This layout will give you the long point of the jacks for easy cutting.
Note that the equal pitch hip rafter runs from the outside corner at a 45 degree angle back to the connection at the ridge board.
