Jack Rafter Side Cut Angles
Jack rafters must have a side cut or cheek cut angle applied and can be figured as in the example below. On your framing square you will find on the fifth line of the face "side cut of jacks use" and under the number 4 you will find 11 3/8"
Placing your framing square on the top edge of you chosen material with the number 12 on the tongue and 11 3/8" on the body mark along the tongue side and this will give you the side or cheek cut for all the jack rafters.
